Dear Stream Smart Participant or other interested party,
Maine Audubon will be holding 3 introductory Stream Smart workshops this spring at the following dates and locations and we hope that you will help us spread the word:
- April 3rd<https://maineaudubon.org/news/events/stream-smart-workshop-fort-kent/> at the Forestry Department at UMaine Ft. Kent
- April 23rd<https://maineaudubon.org/news/events/stream-smart-workshop-greenville/> at the Greenville Public Safety Building
- May 8th<https://maineaudubon.org/news/events/stream-smart-workshop-presque-isle/> at the NRCS office in Presque Isle
These workshops will be helpful to all professionals who are responsible for road-stream crossings including contractors, road commissioners, public works departments, conservation commissions, engineers, planners, land trusts, watershed groups, and private landowners. Participants in these workshops can also receive recertification credit for the Maine DEP Voluntary Contractor Certification Program, continuing education credits through the Society of American Foresters, and professional development hours for professional engineers.
We will also be hosting a Stream Smart for Municipalities workshop<https://maineaudubon.org/news/events/stream-smart-workshop-topsham/> on March 26th at the Topsham Town Hall. This workshop is specifically aimed at informing municipalities of the value of Stream Smart crossings as well as providing information about funding that is currently available to help offset the costs of these culvert replacement projects.
Please share this announcement and the link to Stream Smart Workshops page<https://maineaudubon.org/projects/stream-smart/stream-smart-workshops/>, which includes registration information, with appropriate staff, post the flyers on your webpages if appropriate, and share with any additional contacts you may have. We appreciate your help in spreading the word on this workshop, and we look forward to seeing you or your staff at this or a future Stream Smart workshop!
Registration information can be found on the Stream Smart workshops page<https://maineaudubon.org/projects/stream-smart/stream-smart-workshops/>. Please direct any questions to Hannah Young or Natalie Conn conserve at maineaudubon.org<mailto:conserve at maineaudubon.org>
Thank you,
