[SchoolFinance] Cash In Lieu

Hi Natasha,

Here is Ellsworth's CBA language:

Full-time employees who do not take any insurance benefit provided by the
ESB shall receive one
payment of $3,500 each (less upplicable state and federal taxes). Part-time
employees shall receive
prorated payments.
Teachers who opt to receive the annual payment in lieu of an ESB
contribution towards health
insurance coverage shall provide the following:
I. Written attestation that the employee has declined the Eso·s coverage;
2. Written evidence that the employee and all other individuals with whom
the employee reasonably
expects to claim a personal tax exemption for the taxable year(s) that
begin or end with the employer"s
health plan year to which the cash in lieu payment applies. have or will
have minimum essential
coverage (other than coverage in the individual market) during the period
of coverage to which the cash
in lieu of payment applies: and
3. Written acknowledgement that the cash in lieu of payment will nor be
made to any employee if the
employer knows or has reason to know that the employee or any other member
of the employee ·s
expected tax family does not have (or will not have) the required
alternative coverage.
