I just heard back from Mepers and here is their response regarding
reporting leaves to Mepers:
*There is no need to submit the PSC form twice. While the employee remains
on payroll, you should continue to report them. The submission of the PSC
form will generate a letter to the employee, and we will communicate
directly with them regarding their Maine PFML earnings & contributions on
those earnings. We ask that you supply the start date of the leave of
absence on the PSC form rather than the date they begin drawing benefits
from the Maine PFML program, because it means that our communication
reaches the member sooner. If you submit the PSC form checking the option
for FMLA, we follow a different process, so if the employee is on ME PFML
it is important that you choose the specific option for it.*
Thank you,
Sherrie Proctor
