Hello,
We have experienced a similar pattern to Hollis with respect to premium
increases.
MSAD 11 transitioned from Kyes to Cross Insurance after Cross undercut Kyes
by a significant margin. In the years that followed, the district
experienced sizeable annual increases, consistent with what others have
reported.
In addition to the premium increases, we frequently encountered challenges
related to claims and administration. We also did not experience the same
level of customer service that we had previously received from both Kyes
and, prior to that, MSMA.
Two years ago, MSAD 11 went out to bid for insurance coverage. Ultimately,
the district elected to move forward with an alternative option, even
though it resulted in an additional cost of approximately $20,000, rather
than continue with Cross.
I hope this information is helpful.
