[SchoolFinance] Use of Gift Cards as Prizes - Students

Hi Katie,

We do budget for our Student of the Month gift cards. We keep the gift
cards to a minimum ($10 Dunkin Donuts) and then we also have annual student
awards that are a bit higher ($20). But, yes, we do take the cost out of
our general fund budget and are up front with our School Board about this
expense.

We do not give gift cards to staff but do give out items like t-shirts and
sweatshirts for Teacher Appreciation week, etc.
