[SchoolFinance] Inquiry Regarding Special Education Stipend Practices

At RSU 50 we have an additional $2,000 built into our salary schedule for
Special Ed Teachers and an additional $.50 per hour for Special Ed Ed Techs
that work in our life skills/ behavior rooms. We have done this due to the
fact that we now house all of our students with major behavior needs within
special contained classrooms rather than sending them to Private Purpose
Schools. This model has worked well for us and our students and saved the
district money in the long run.
