MSAD 55 had the same rates. This is the information that Wendy sent me when
I asked.
*Since some of the PFML benefit for an employee’s own medical leave will be
taxable as income and will require withholding of FICA taxes (Medicare and
Social Security) there is the option, for a higher rate, to have the
Guardian pay the employer’s share of the FICA tax. Since many school
employees don’t pay into Social Security, it likely doesn’t make sense to
opt for a FICA match and pay a higher premium.*
