Falmouth Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated individual to
join our District Office team as a full-time *Payroll/Human Resource
Specialist*.
The Falmouth Schools are located on a 100-acre district K-12 campus in
Falmouth Maine, a coastal community bordering the city of Portland. Our
campus features extensive fields, trails, gardens and hoop houses, and rich
opportunities for collaboration between schools. Each of our three schools
in the district has been a recipient of the National Blue Ribbon Award:

*ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES*
- Process bi-weekly payroll using School ERP Pro.
- Review electronic time records to ensure proper payroll for hourly
employees.
- Preparation, reconciliation and timely filing of all payroll reports
including MePers, ACA, etc.
- Manage and update employee records for new employees, retirements,
separations from service, benefit elections, pay rate changes, general
ledger allocations, and changes in employee information.
- Manage district workers compensation, FMLA and unemployment claims and
benefits.
- Prepare and reconcile payments for payroll benefits and withholding
taxes.
- Assists employees and supervisors with periodic training to ensure
proper payroll compliance.
- Process Anthem, Delta Dental, and MePers applications online for all
new employees as well as changes in benefits for existing staff, as
necessary.
- Process/input new employee information into School ERP Pro system.
- Field and respond to employee benefit and leave inquiries.
- Prepare employment verifications as necessary.
- Assist with audit preparation as needed.
- Communication with employees in a respectful, professional and timely
manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
- Continued professional development in payroll regulations and human
resource practices is encouraged
- Prior experience with employee benefits support, Frontline, and Tyler
Technologies School ERP Pro preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- The successful candidate must have (or be eligible for) an approved
State of Maine fingerprinting (CRC) and a district background check.
