[MaineSchoolNurse] Launch of Docket for Schools

Dear School Nurses,

As communicated earlier this spring<https://mailchi.mp/maine/cu5lemq6y0-1593639?e=d990143ad9> with an opportunity to be a tester, Docket for Schools is the replacement for the immunization reporting and compliance method as directed by Maine Immunization Program (MIP) at Maine CDC. My team has been part of the testing group and have offered input. Although we help with communication and some support, this is not a Maine DOE project and we do not have control over the details. Please reach out directly to the Maine Immunization Program for support.

As you know, according to Maine law a "superintendent may not permit any child to be enrolled in or to attend school without a certificate of immunization for each disease or other acceptable evidence of required immununization." (i.e. written assurance, medical exemption). This new tool is designed to support school nurses with compliance for all students by providing quick and easy access to student immunization records and compliance status. With Docket for Schools, identifying immunization gaps and ensuring compliance will be more efficient and streamlined. Please note: Use of Docket for Schools will be required for all schools starting this upcoming 2025-26 school year.

In response to the many questions and concerns, MIP is holding a meeting on Thursday at 2pm to discuss the requirements and the reasons for the change.

In the coming weeks, you will receive (or may have already received) an email from Docket for Schools with a secure link to log into your school’s account along with a copy of the docket for school roster template. With this link, the school administrators are/were asked to invite the school nurse to Docket for Schools. With the attached sample roster, please work with your school tech to fill in your student information. The Maine Immunization Program can assist you with uploading your schools roster (You will need to save the CSV file as an XLSX. in order to upload)

The Maine Immunization Program will be hosting several demo sessions throughout the summer and into the fall to help you become familiar with the system and its features. They will be communicating with schools again as the next school year approaches. Nurses and administrators are invited to join MIP for Summer Demos and Support!


You're invited to join us every other Wednesday throughout the summer from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM for a demo and assistance session focused on the Docket for Schools Module.
