Tammy: The Training, Education, Assistance, Mentorship, and Support (TEAMS) Program helps school districts increase the capacity to enhance student health services by taking a deep dive into school administrative unit (SAU) policy, procedures, and infrastructure.
Following the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) TEAMS model, the district teams are guided through a process to:
*
Engage partners (e.g., school staff, school board, parents) to support improvements in health services,
*
Assess current health services to identify and prioritize gaps,
*
Develop and implement a strategic action plan to address those gaps, and
*
Evaluate the outcomes.
A flyer is attached to the follow up email.
Scope and Standards of Practice Learning Module: This module provides the school nurse with an overview of the 4th Edition of the School Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. The module discusses how the scope and standards can be used to guide and evaluate the school nurse’s practice and assist them in developing learning and practice goals. Exploring School Nursing: Scope and Standards of Nursing module has been approved for 1.95 Nursing Continuing Professional Development Contact Hours for completing each section and corresponding evaluation. Access the module at: https://schoolhealthassociates.com/course/exploring-school-nursing-scope-and-standards-of-practice/

School Nurse Regional Liaisons in 2024-2025—We are planning to have regional Communities of Practice again plus a special New School Nurse Community of Practice (the New School Nurse CoP schedule is attached). We are hoping to offer CPR and Stop the Bleed recertifications regionally as well so you don’t have to search for a way to recertify. The whole team is here to support school nurses and the amazing work you do every day.
New School Nurse Orientation-Save the Date-- August 12. It will be in Augusta, approximately 8:30-4:00. More information will be coming as we get details finalized. It will be added to the DOE Professional Learning Calendar.
