Please review the attachments and below message from Maine CDC:
Greetings,
Maine, like much of New England, is in the middle of a very active mosquito season. With similar conditions likely through the rest of summre and fall, the risk of mosquito-borne diseases remains high. Maine<https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/infectious-disease/epi/vector-borne/arboviral-surveillance.shtml> has already seen mosquitoes test positive for Jamestown Canyon virus (JCV) and wild birds test positive for West Nile virus (WNV) this year. Other New England states, including Massachusetts<https://www.mass.gov/info-details/massachusetts-arbovirus-update>, New Hampshire<https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/sites/g/files/ehbemt476/files/documents2/arbotestresult2024.pdf>, and Vermont<https://www.healthvermont.gov/disease-control/mosquito-borne-diseases/mosquitoes-vermont> have also seen mosquito-borne disease activity.
Maine CDC has resources for municipalities, organizations, and individuals to help protect their communities and families from mosquito-borne diseases. The best way to prevent a mosquito-borne disease is to prevent mosquito bites. Please use and share these resources widely.
