Below are some upcoming opportunities that we wanted to share for those interested.

  1.  Attached are two flyers from our colleagues at Maine Youth Thriving (MyT). Please review and consider joining as able.
  2.  For ME Instructional Programs Overview<https://mainedoenews.net/2025/01/16/for-me-instructional-program-overview-and-summer-training-opportunities/>:
     *   An informational overview of the programs will be held on January 23, 2025, from 3:00-4:30 p.m. via Zoom. The session will share the basic program structures and review materials needed for implementation. The overview will be recorded and posted for those unable to attend live. Educators unfamiliar with the programs are strongly encouraged to attend or view the recording.
  3.  Nominations for the 2026 outstanding early childhood professional are open!
     *   Do you know an outstanding early childhood professional who works with children from birth to age eight (8) in a child care program, public school, private school, or home-visiting setting?  If so, consider nominating them for the 2026 Week of the Young Child (WOYC) Outstanding Early Childhood Professional Spotlight . Recognize an outstanding early childhood professional by submitting a nomination through the 2026 WOYC Spotlight nomination form.<https://forms.office.com/g/LeDvSy5ka1> The submission deadline is Friday, February 13th, at 11:59 p.m.
  4.  Get Ready for the 11th Annual Read to ME Challenge in February<https://mainedoenews.net/2026/01/09/get-ready-for-the-11th-annual-read-to-me-challenge-in-february/>!
     *   For the 11th consecutive year, the Maine Department of Education (DOE) is partnering with schools and community organizations across the state to promote the Read to ME Challenge, a month-long public awareness campaign held in February. The Read to ME Challenge is designed to foster joy in reading and support children's literacy development by challenging adults to read to and/or with children during the month of February.
