Good Afternoon,
USDA's Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has updated its CACFP Area Eligibility Mapping Tool with 2025 census data. This data is effective as of 10/1/2024. To access the Mapping Tool, click this link<https://www.fns.usda.gov/area-eligibility>. Please note that the map works best when opened in the following browsers: Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. The mapping tool looks a little different than it has in past years- this year, area eligible addresses are indicated by green shading and non-area eligible addresses are indicated by grey shading.
As you may have noticed, we are running a bit behind in approving agreement renewals this year. We anticipate having renewals approved prior to November 1st- per regulations, we can still provide reimbursement for the month prior to the month in which agreements are approved, so this should not impact program payments. Thank you for your patience.
Because we are behind in approving renewals:
If you have providers that:
* Are qualified for the higher, Tier I rate of reimbursement by census data, and their eligibility ran out at the end of September 2024 -or-
* Are qualified for the lower, Tier II rate of reimbursement
* Are brand new to CACFP
Please be sure to check census data for these providers as soon as possible and report changes to our office by revising their provider information sheets in CNPWeb.
For all other providers, please wait until November 1st to check census data and report changes to our office by revising their provider information sheets in CNPWeb.
Thank you again and please let us know if you have questions.
