time for the Annual Androscoggin Watershed Conference will be held at the Auburn Senior
Community Center on May 13 from 8:30 to 2:30.
Dana Osgood from the News Center Maine meteorological team will be a
featured speaker discussing information from News Center’s series Maine’s
Changing Climate. Maggie KellyBoyd from
the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future will then present highlights
from the state climate change plan, Maine Won’t Wait. <span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><br></p><p class="MsoNormal">Maine Audubon will be bringing a hands-on stream table to
help us better understand how rainfall and flooding impacts rivers and streams,
infrastructure and wildlife habitat. Other
sessions include impacts of flooding, opportunities for hazard mitigation, the
importance of brook trout to our economy and the environment, perspectives on
angling on the Androscoggin, discussion the 78,000 acre conservation proposal
