<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">Lake watershed surveys conducted by community volunteers are an effective tool for identifying and resolving land use problems that have a negative impact on lake water quality. Watershed surveys also increase
overall public awareness about threats to lake health and can serve as rallying calls in a community. This application will be reviewed and funding may be made available to lake, watershed, or other community organizations interested in conducting a watershed
survey. Major considerations in the review process include: coordination with Maine Department of Environmental Protection, work that has already been done by the organization, environmental justice criteria (we defer to https://screeningtool.geoplatform.gov
for this criteria scoring), and past funding. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
