Lakes Environmental Association (LEA) is hosting a free training on Monday, March 23rd from 9:00am to 12:00pm at their Maine Lake Science Center located at 51 Willett Rd in Bridgton Maine.

This training will cover Maine's Stormwater Laws (often referred to as Chapter 500). It will also provide an overview of what planners and others concerned about local development need to know regarding DEP and municipal permitting, stormwater, subdivisions, site plan review, and shoreland zoning. The training will cover water quality provisions and other environmental considerations, such as buffers, wetlands, lighting, stream crossings, and runoff. This training is presented by Cody Obropta, P.E. (Environmental Engineer at Maine Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Land Resources) and LEA staff.

This program is free and appropriate for municipal employees, planning board members, contractors, and anyone interested in learning more about stormwater management. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
