Watershed Festival 26 to Celebrate Local Lakes and Watersheds at Townhouse Beach

The Keoka Lake Association will sponsor Watershed Festival 26, a free, family-friendly
community event at Townhouse Beach in Waterford, Maine, on Saturday, July 11, 2026,
from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Watershed Festival 26 will celebrate the many lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, and wetlands
in the area and highlight practical, accessible ways residents and visitors can help protect
local watersheds. The festival will feature brief educational presentations, informational
displays, and activities for children and adults.

The event is intended to bring together a broad mix of educational and community
partners. Organizations from across the region are invited to attend in person, provide
displays, or send educational materials related to watershed stewardship, lake and river
conservation, water quality, wildlife, outdoor recreation, and environmental learning.
"Watershed Festival 26 is meant to be welcoming, informative, and community-focused,"
said organizers Tom Hammett and Jim Flynn. "Our goal is to help people see how the
places they live, work, and play on land are connected to the lakes and rivers they care
about, and to share simple actions that make a difference across the whole watershed."

The festival will also include a Keoka Lake Association table offering festival T-shirts,
posters, bottled water, and ice cream bars, with proceeds supporting efforts to protect
Keoka Lake and the surrounding lakes and watersheds in this region.

All residents, seasonal visitors, and lake users and supporters are invited to attend.
