Good afternoon,
I wanted to extend an invitation to an upcoming conference you may be interested in! The spring meeting of the NEERS group is being held in Freeport, Maine, April 18-20, 2024. You can register for the conference online here<https://newenglandestuarineresearchsociety.wildapricot.org/Registration-Overview> - for students, we are happy to offer you our "early bird" pricing, simply select "invoice me" during registration, then contact me so I can adjust your invoice accordingly!
The New England Estuarine Research Society<https://newenglandestuarineresearchsociety.wildapricot.org/> (NEERS) is the regional Affiliate Society of the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation. We are a non-profit of approximately 500 members devoted to the study and management of New England estuaries and coastal environments. Members hail from scientific and educational institutions; federal, state, and municipal resource management and regulatory agencies; and conservation organizations throughout the region.
NEERS organizes semi-annual meetings around New England to promote information exchange among the region's coastal and estuarine professionals and students. We're excited to bring this spring's meeting to mid-coast Maine April 18-20. The meeting kicks off Thursday afternoon with a special symposium "Coastal Resilience Through Community Engagement: Inspiring Climate Solutions<https://newenglandestuarineresearchsociety.wildapricot.org/Special-Symposium>", continues with contributed sessions Friday-Saturday morning, and will conclude with an optional field trip Saturday afternoon to the Cousins River Marsh<https://www.mcht.org/conservation-work/initiative/the-cousins-river-fields-and-marsh-project/> . The full program is available near the bottom of the meeting webpage<https://newenglandestuarineresearchsociety.wildapricot.org/MeetingOverview/>.
Please share this announcement broadly with students and colleagues. We hope you can join us in Freeport!
Thank you!
-Eliza Moore, NEERS Secretary
