For 40 years, the Maine Conservation Corps has been sending individuals into communities to accomplish conservation projects, engage volunteers, and provide conservation education to the community, while increasing the employability and opportunity for participants.
MCC is excited to announce Individual Placement Host Site opportunities in 2025. You might know us best for our trail work, but we offer much more, and 2025 will be our most diverse season yet. In addition to Environmental Steward placements, we have two new options for hosting Corps members! We invite you to attend a virtual information session on Thursday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m. to learn about current and new programs.
Please complete this form by Friday, August 23rd<https://forms.office.com/g/1hKQ8BqXKB> to RSVP for the virtual meeting AND inform us of your intent to host individual placement members in 2025.
2025 placements will include:
* Environmental Stewards
* Environmental Stewards build capacity and accomplish diverse activities, such as field research, ecological monitoring, volunteer management, environmental education, youth corps leadership, GIS projects, and more.
* Community Tree Stewards
* Community Tree Stewards accomplish forestry projects in underserved communities. Activities are rooted in community needs and may include Street Tree Inventory, forest pest management, planting and maintaining trees, and more.
* Shore Corps
* Shore Corps members will provide public outreach and education around nature-based solutions for shoreline stabilization, conduct site assessments for homeowners, and engage in demonstration projects with community volunteers.
We will officially release and announce the 2025 Host Site Application process in the coming weeks, with a due date of September 16th, 2025. Mark your calendars, and please forward this message to anyone interested in learning more about MCC partnership opportunities.
As the Program Manager for Individual Placements, I look forward to building and expanding relationships with your site.
