The Town of Topsham, in partnership with FB Environmental and VIEWSHED, is
exploring ways to make the Topsham Fair Mall more sustainable and resilient
to climate change through the use of green infrastructure. This information
is available as a digital resource at https://arcg.is/18vafq0. The Town
will also be hosting a free presentation about Green Infrastructure on June
8th from 5-6:30PM at the Topsham Public Library. Cody Obropta (bio below),
from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, will present on the
benefits of green infrastructure, both environmental and economic. FB
Environmental will also present on the water quality issues in the Topsham
Fair Mall stream watershed and the ongoing grant work to improve water
quality. Please register for this event by emailing Julie Erdman
jerdman at topshammaine.com. This project was funded by the Maine Coastal
Program from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S.
Department of Commerce.

Cody Obropta is a licensed professional civil engineer and a member of the
Stormwater Engineering Team at the Maine Department of Environmental
Protection. At the DEP, Cody reviews development projects to ensure they’re
meeting state stormwater rules. He’s also heavily involved with public
education about the importance of stormwater management and the benefits of
green infrastructure. He most recently contributed to the 2023 edition of
the Maine Community Resilience Workbook and hopes to continue protecting
Maine’s natural resources for future generations.
