[SchoolFinance] Anyone calculating overtime by day rather than week?

Hello,
Do any of you pay out overtime for days on which employees worked more than
8 hours, rather than going by hours worked beyond 40 in a week?
One of our unions has proposed that, and I'm just looking for data. I have
never worked at a district that did overtime by the day.
