There has been some recent confusion regarding the Alternate Economic Status Form
Alternate Economic Status Form Facts:

  * Is meant to be used for Economic Status reporting for use in Essential Programs and Services (EPS)
     * Must be entered into your student information system (SIS) for economic status reporting as:
        * Alternate Economic Status Form for students who meet low-income criteria.
        * Full Price for students who do not meet low-income criteria.
     * The data collected from the Alternate Economic Status form should not be entered into your lunch program data system

  * Cannot be used for identifying eligibility for School Lunch Programming and serving students for lunch.
     * The data collected from the Alternate Economic Status form should only be in your student information system for Economic Status reporting.
     * It should not be entered into your lunch program data system

  * It is not too late to collect and report the Alternate Economic Status Form data.
     * Data as of October 1 can continue to be reported until the SAU's October 1 Student Enrollment report is certified
     * The October 1 Student Enrollment Report certification date is October 30, 2025

  * Economic Disadvantaged counts (from Direct Certification, NSLP forms, and Alternate Economic Status forms) provide additional weighted percentages on the ED279 for each SAU.
     *   Page/Section 2
        *   section C - lines 2 and 3
        *   section D - lines 9,10,11

Here are a few resources that may be helpful with more explanation:
