The optional winter administration of the Maine Through Year Assessment runs from January 2 through February 16.

This month also marks the opening of the ACCESS assessment for multilingual learners and NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) for students in selected schools. On December 14, an in-person session with representatives from NWEA, Maine DOE, and SAU leadership was held. Attached, please see the finalized resource document, which includes a link to the slides developed and shared by NWEA.

On January 11 at 3:30 PM, I will be hosting Maine DOE's first Understanding Scores from the Maine Through Year Assessment workshop. During this workshop, participants will learn about the characteristics and purposes of the two score types produced by the Maine Through Year Assessment. Participants will interact with student RIT score and Maine-specific scale score data to develop a deeper understanding of the purpose and value of, as well as the similarities and differences between, these two measures of student performance.
