Good afternoon!

I hope you are well during this busy time of year! Here is a mid-assessment administration window update.

Maine Science Assessment
There are 5 days left in the administration window for the Maine Science Assessment.

  * The Maine Science Support Desk number is (855) 544-0842.
  * Proctors are required to watch the Maine Science Assessment Proctor Training Video<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lne6qkBboVo>.
  * As a reminder, there are four sessions of the Maine Science Assessment. An assessment session MUST be completed on the day that it is started. The session will autosubmit at 11:59 PM. This applies to all students, including students with extended time.
  * With the exception of students with the designated supports of extended time and/or frequent breaks, as identified in the assessment platform, the 60-minute session must be completed in one sitting. A single session cannot be split into separate parts.
  * All students must proceed to the next session at the same time. The Assessment Administration Manual contains the scripts for each session of the Maine Science Assessment. You can find the Assessment Administration Manuals for each grade level here<https://mescience.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/1500001237162-Resources-Document-Downloads>.
  * Unsubmitting an assessment session is allowable under special circumstances, such as a student is dismissed early or becomes ill during the 60-minute session. If you need an assessment session unsubmitted on the day it is started, please contact Maine Science Support. If you are requesting that a session be unsubmitted on a different day, please email Krista Averill at Krista.Averill at maine.gov<mailto:Krista.Averill at maine.gov>.

Maine Through Year Assessment
There are 9 days left in the administration window for the Maine Through Year Assessment.

  * The NWEA Maine Partner Support number is (855) 430-1777.
  * All reset requests are due by May 24 at 4:00 PM. Here is the reset process flow<https://www.nwea.org/uploads/Maine-Through-Year-Assessment-Reset-Process-Spring-24_NWEA_Guide.pdf>. Please be sure that the reason you are selecting on the reset request form is accurate and, in the case of RIT score decreases or low test engagement, true to the student's assessment results.
  * We are (already!) planning next fall's NWEA professional learning sessions and need to provide NWEA with fall dates and topics next month. NWEA has offered to expand the professional learning options, and so we are seeking feedback on what administrators and educators would most like to see. Please complete the NWEA Professional Learning Survey<https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=q6g_QX0gYkubzeoajy-GTr5T08Rm6C5PnRdF3Ym4XjZUOVgwVFFUV0dRNE9NS0NNUk9RRTA4U0RETiQlQCN0PWcu> by May 31 so that we can plan for a successful series of professional learning events next year.

As a note, I will be travelling for an on-site assessment administration observation on Monday, May 20, and will have limited access to email and phone.
I will also be out Friday, May 24, due to a family commitment. I will not have any access to email or phone that day, so please reach out to our Director of Assessment, Jodi Bossio-Smith at Jodi.Bossio-Smith at maine.gov<mailto:Jodi.Bossio-Smith at maine.gov>, if you have any assessment-related needs on May 24.

Please let me know if you have any questions or support needs.

Sincerely,
Krista
