Good afternoon,

First, thank you for all you are doing to support students, families, and each other during this difficult time. We wanted to remind you that School Nurse Office Hours are tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 1st at 3:15 PM. We also wanted to share information about upcoming events being offered to support clinicians, and educators who have been impacted by last week's events. Please share widely.

All Maine school-based mental health providers are invited to a virtual Office Hour with Chris McLaughlin, MSW, LCSW, Executive Director of NASW Maine (National Association of Social Workers) and owner of Inspired Consulting Group, LLC.

Behavioral Health Resources for Those Affected by the Violence in Lewiston

  *   ME DHHS will be hosting an educational webinar this Wed, Nov 1 from 12N-1P to discuss approaches and resources to support ME healthcare clinicians, their patients, and their communities in response to the Lewiston shootings last week. Recognizing the profound sadness and trauma being experienced by people and communities around the state, Maine DHHS is seeking to provide support, education, and resources to Maine healthcare clinicians, while also coordinating with several related efforts being offered by other groups.  With that goal, we plan to offer a series of 3 webinars in the coming weeks geared to support front-line Maine healthcare providers as you care for your patients. The webinars will feature national and state experts on the issue of trauma response and will offer an opportunity for questions and discussion.  The first in this series of webinars will be held this Wed, Nov 1 (will be recorded).  Dates for the remaining two sessions will be announced soon.   *   In response to the tragic events of last week, the Maine AAP and Maine Coalition of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists joined Vibrant Emotional Health to offer a webinar to help support children in the wake of mass violence.   *   Through Strengthen ME, there are Critical Incident Response group support sessions available. These are debriefings for a specific critical incident that occurs in the workplace.
