<i>The Right To Read</i> documentary. <span style="color:black;background:white">
an award-winning film about a topic that filmmakers describe as the “greatest civil rights issue of our time”: literacy.</span><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black;background:white">The University of Southern Maine Department of Special Education and the Maine Department of Education are happy to co-host a free screening of the
documentary <em><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Right to Read</span></em> on
<b>Monday 22, January 2024 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm</b> in Hannaford Hall on the Portland campus. The movie screening will be followed by a panel discussion with USM faculty, DOE staff, and classroom teachers. <strong><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Note</span></strong>:
This event is free and open to the public.</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">

<i>The Right to Read</i>. The northern Maine screening will take place at <b>6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24</b> in UMPI’s Campus Center, and will be followed by a question and answer session with a Maine Department of Education official and local teachers.
