<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) recently released a notice about a new funding opportunity - the
<a href="https://www.maine.gov/dot/sites/maine.gov.dot/files/inline-files/maine_public_working_waterfront_infrastructure_fund_Notice_FINAL_0.pdf">
Maine Public Working Waterfront Infrastructure Fund</a>. The Request for Applications (RFA) will
<b>open</b> in <b>late January 2026</b> to support planning, design, and construction at existing public working waterfront facilities. Tidally influenced Municipalities that have public working waterfront are eligible to apply. The purpose of the notice is
to give eligible entities time to start thinking about potential projects and ask questions, before the RFA opens.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">The purpose of the fund is to adapt existing public working waterfront infrastructure to reduce vulnerability to climate change, sea level rise, coastal flooding and other impacts. Eligible properties include
publicly-owned working waterfronts that provide access to or support the conduct of commercial fishing, aquaculture, or other marine activities.
