From Tammy.Sobiecki at maine.gov Fri Jun 5 12:36:34 2026 From: Tammy.Sobiecki at maine.gov (Sobiecki, Tammy) Date: Fri, 5 Jun 2026 16:36:34 +0000 Subject: FW: Maine Local Roads Update In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Good afternoon, Happy Friday all! I hope you're enjoying the beautiful weather!! We had a great turnout yesterday at the Highway Congress in Skowhegan. Thanks to all that attended. We had roughly 70 vendors & 1200 attendees! We also recognized @ 20 Roads Scholars (close to 50 this year!!) I will get the remaining plaques owed to those that I didn't have ready & available yesterday. My apologies! Hopefully sometime next week. SALT - I have been asked by many about the status of vendor/prices & unfortunately they haven't even gone out to bid yet. Procurement is busy getting many RFQs out as well as dealing with fiscal/year end duties & informed me that they will get the RFQ out by end of next week. I should have prices to you by the end of the month. You will have 2 weeks to accept/reject the price; I will forward to Procurement & they will then need to wait 15 days for the Appeal process. Therefore, the Master Agreements won't be finalized until July. I apologize for this delay but my hands are tied. FALL WORKSHOPS - depending on need, I'm hoping to offer less Snow & Ice Control workshops & at least one or 2 additional, other than Supervisory Leadership, that have not been offered in 10 years. I'm potentially looking to do Basics of the MUTCD, Lines/Levels & Layouts or Invasive Species/Weeds. PLEASE let me know what you would be interested in, how many would potentially attend, and whether or not you would be able to host SUPERVISORY LEADERSHIP - I have roughly 60 on the wait list; those on the wait list will have 3 days from the time I send the email/brochure (first of August) to say YES; the first 25 responses will be accepted into the class. No more than 2 per town. The remaining will stay on the wait list for Spring 2027. Let me know if you want to be added to the wait list. As a reminder, if a town/city manager or road commissioner/public works director changes, it would be WONDERFUL if you could keep me in the loop. Much appreciated. ENJOY YOUR SUMMER & as always, feel free to contact us if you need assistance/guidance or have any questions Tammy Sobiecki Maine Local Roads Center Program Coordinator 16 SHS 24 Child St. Augusta, ME 04333 Tammy.sobiecki at maine.gov 207-624-3263 207-592-3371 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
