Dear CACFP Sponsors,
At least one staff person from each sponsoring agency must complete the annual mandatory Civil Rights Training. The CACFP Team has created an easy way to fulfill this federal requirement:
Step 1: Watch the 30-Minute Civil Rights Webinar
Watch Webinar<https://youtu.be/cagY58-zCS4?si=L06LgmwlPzjTZvLl>: https://youtu.be/cagY58-zCS4?si=L06LgmwlPzjTZvLl
Step 2: Complete the 2026 Civil Rights Quiz
Take the Quiz<https://forms.office.com/g/uT3qfJRi7k>: https://forms.office.com/g/uT3qfJRi7k
The "2026 Civil Rights Quiz" documents your Sponsoring Agency/Institution's successful completion of the Civil Rights Training. Please complete both the webinar and quiz by March 9, 2026.
No certificate of completion will be provided; the CACFP Team can see who completed the quiz and when.
Additional Resources:
* Webinar and presentation slides are available on the Non-Discriminatory & Civil Rights Information webpage: Maine DOE Civil Rights Page<https://www.maine.gov/doe/schools/nutrition/nondiscrimination>
* Please use this training and presentation when conducting your In-House Civil Rights Training.
Important Notes:
* This State Agency training/quiz does not replace your institution's annual "In-House" Civil Rights Training requirement.
* When conducting your In-House training, be sure to:
* Use the webinar and slides if desired
* Document the training with a dated sign-in sheet and agenda<mailto:https://www.maine.gov/doe/sites/maine.gov.doe/files/inline-files/Child%20Nutrition%20-%20Annual%20Staff%20Training%20Form%20-%202.11.2025.pdf>
* Keep these records in your files, as you will not have access to the State Agency's quiz results for documentation purposes.
* CACFP Sponsors' In-House Training should be completed by September 30, 2026.
Please ensure compliance with these deadlines. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the CACFP Team.
Thank you for your attention and commitment to civil rights in Child Nutrition Programs!
